Overview

Baker Mountain Guides Gym to Crag Course is designed to provide our students with a foundational understanding of anchors, cleaning and rappelling, and crag specific considerations. We tailor this course to each individual student by building upon extant skills and operating at common weekend destinations. Students will adapt their climbing gym movement skill to the outdoor realm and develop the autonomy to return on their own.

Baker Mountain Guides custom course flow adapts to each climber. We build upon our students existing skills in order to provide everyone with the most pertinent information. Our local knowledge will foster your growth.


Itinerary

Baker Mountain Guides offers scheduled 2-day Gym To Crag Courses in Washington, Utah, and British Columbia.


  • Day 1: Fundamentals

    The course begins with a belay review and assessment. We will then cover anchor building and outdoor venue specific considerations such as stick clipping, getting oriented at a new crag, and belay zone considerations. We will cover cleaning anchors at the end of the day.


  • Single Pitch Climbing and Multi Pitch Introduction

    Day 2 will begin with a review of the previous days’ material. We will then split into pairs and go climbing for the day. Your instructor will work closely with each team and introduce the basics of multi pitch rock climbing.
