Our comprehensive, one-day curriculum will prepare you for day tours in simple terrain via an overview of backcountry equipment, movement skills, efficiency, and basic avalanche awareness.

  • Single Day

    The day will begin with an overview of backcountry touring equipment. Instructors will discuss avalanche rescue/hazard and introduce topics such as skinning, track setting, kick turns, transitions, travel techniques, and group management. Students will take the lead and apply their new skills.
