Trad Climbing Comprehensive

Baker Mountain Guides Comprehensive Traditional Climbing Course is designed to provide our students with a thorough understanding of placing and cleaning gear, building anchors, crack climbing techniques, and multi-pitch theory. After four days, participants will be leading multi-pitch traditional climbs. Our instructors will provide real-time feedback and work closely with every student, building upon each person’s individual skill set.

Multi-Pitch Fundamentals

Baker Mountain Guides Multi-Pitch Rock Fundamentals Course is designed to provide our students with a foundational understanding of belaying from above, rope management, and multi-pitch rappelling. Over the course of two days, we will turn single pitch climbers into multi-pitch climbers. This course will provide climbers with the tools they need to start climbing beginner multi-pitch routes autonomously.

Gym to Crag Course

Baker Mountain Guides Gym to Crag Course is designed to provide our students with a foundational understanding of anchors, cleaning and rappelling, and crag specific considerations. We tailor this course to each individual student by building upon extant skills and operating at common weekend destinations. Students will adapt their climbing gym movement skill to the outdoor realm and develop the autonomy to return on their own.

Trad Climbing Fundamentals

Baker Mountain Guides Trad Climbing Fundamentals Course is designed to provide our students with an introductory understanding of placing and cleaning gear, building anchors, and crack climbing technique. After two days, participants will be ready for their first trad leads. Our instructors will provide real-time feedback and work closely with every student, building upon each person’s individual skill set.

Rock Rescue Course

Baker Mountain Guides Rock Rescue Course is designed to instill climbers with the skills they need to perform a self-rescue in multi-pitch rock terrain. Students will learn how to escape the belay, haul an injured climber, rappel with dead weight, lower, pass knots, and ascend ropes. We will also cover common climbing frustrations such as stuck ropes, what to do when your rope is too short, and how to prepare for the arrival of search and rescue.

Crack Climbing Clinic

Baker Mountain Guides Crack Climbing Clinic is the premier introduction to crack climbing. Students will learn the fundamentals of jamming technique. Instructors will coach climbers through the various crack sizes and provide real-time feedback. Students will climb classic cracks and learn the techniques they need to climb efficiently and place gear with ease.
